The Honda Fit has been completely redesigned for 2009. A bit longer and wider than last year’s car, the 2009 Fit boasts added interior space, sharper handling, enhanced seating functionality, a more powerful engine and a higher emphasis on safety.

Honda decided to give a complete revamp to the Honda Fit for the year 2009, featuring a wider and longer version. The newer version of the Honda Fit brags of sharper controls in terms of handling, comfy seating arrangements, as well as greater passenger room. It also comes with an enhanced engine that can churn out serious power.

Trims and Power-Train

In the safety department, the 2009 Honda Fit has some new additions too. It is marketed in 4-door compact hatchback style, in a couple of trims viz the Sport and the base trim. The base version comes with a 4-speaker audio system with CD/MP3 player, 15-inch steel wheels, and an auxiliary audio input.

Looking at the power-train, a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine, which was available last year, is still available on the base version, while the Sport trim gets the upgraded of i-VTEC engine with variable valve timing.

The 2009 Honda Fit has also gained higher EPA fuel rankings, and the overall drivability and comfort level of the vehicle has been reported to have improved significantly; all in all, it offers good value for money.
